On Friday 20th April 2012, unknown person(s) damaged the wing mirror of a motor vehicle whilst it was parked in Old Tarnwell, Stanton Drew.

Between 1800 hours on Sunday 22nd and 0715 hours on Monday 23rd April 2012, unknown person(s) broke a window of a motor vehicle whilst it was parked in Church Lane, Clutton, and removed property from within.

NUMBER PLATE THEFT

Motorists in Bath are being urged to protect their car’s identity and help prevent vehicles being used for criminal activity by taking advantage of a completely free scheme being offered by Allen Ford.

As part of Operation Relentless, Allen Ford and Allen Kia on Lower Bristol Road, Bath, are working with Police on Wednesday 7th March to alert motorists to the increase in number plate thefts and are offering free fitting of anti-tamper number plate screws to help stop criminals in their tracks.

Crime Prevention Design Advisor, Beth Shire from Avon and Somerset Police said: “Criminals often steal number plates from the cars of law abiding citizens in an attempt to conceal their identities and commit crime undetected. This could range from simple theft of petrol from petrol stations and road tax evasion through to far more serious crimes such as robberies, burglaries and drug dealing.”

“This is a great free collaboration from Allen Ford, Allen Kia and Avon and Somerset Constabulary.  We would recommend that members of the public take advantage of the offer on Wednesday. Using tamper proof screws is a great way to protect your car’s number plate from thieves.”

Speaking of the campaign, Allen Thomas, General Sales Manager at Allen Ford, Bath, said: “Swapping standard screws for the anti-tamper variety is a very quick, yet effective way to deter number plate thieves and we are very pleased to be able to provide this free service to local motorists.”

40,000 number-plates are stolen from cars in the UK every year – and rising – that’s one every 15 minutes on average In Bath number-plate theft is on the up with 49 reported crimes between April 2011 and January 2012.  However theft from vehicles in general has decreased by 21%.

. . . If you are the legitimate owner of the number plate the onus is on YOU to PROVE that it wasn’t you who committed any crime! If your number plate is stolen you should report it to the Police immediately.

The club is the centre for many social activities in the village.We run skittles matches, crib evenings, a snooker league, bingo sessions, quiz nights, as well as special events such as a trip to the Ottery Brewery and Wincanton Races.

We are a family friendly club but presently not accepting new members. Memberships are due in April.

Congratulations to the Rebels for winning the Robbins Cup against the Harptree Hopefuls at Farrington . Congratulations also to Whitchurch A for winning the Nova League Division 1. The Presentation Evening is at the Paulton Rovers Football Club on 18th May.

Between 1400 hours on Wednesday 15th and 1100 hours on Saturday 18th February 2012, unknown person(s) gained entry to a garage at a property in Maynard Terrace by breaking a pane of glass in the side door.  Items were removed from within.
