    Francis
My granmother Annie Francis was born in Clutton in 1873 and in later years moved to Cardiff via Bristol (Bedminster) Her father was Joseph Francis and was married to Isabella. I believe her maiden name was Emery.
Annie had brothers and sisters. I am unable to place Harry Francis, who managed a saw mills in Ston Easton. Has anyone knowledge of his place in the Francis family tree?

I am trying to tie up family connection with Batch Farm, occupied by Joseph Francis in the 1870′s.

Picture shows Isabella Francis (nee Emery) born 1852 at Timsbury, with
my grandmother Annie Blick (nee Francis) born 1873 at Clutton, my mother
Ida and sister Joan visiting around 1942. Annie married George Blick (
born 1878 Bristol) and moved to Cardiff in the early 1920′s
It was taken outside Ivy House, Temple Cloud, also occupied by Albert
(1882) and Mabel Francis (1885 nee Stock?) and Maiden Aunt Sarah born
1854.I am trying to trace my partners family tree all I have got to go on so far is that the family comes from Clutton. His mums name was Freda and she had 2 brothers called Lesley and Douglas and 2 sisters called Joyce and Rita.Their mother was called Florence and their mothers maiden name was Atkins their father was Thomas. They all lived in Maynard Terrace at no 33 or 34.Freda married Herbert Husher and they had 3 children Roy,Alan and Linda.Joyce married Ronald Wilcox, and they had one son called Desmond.I am not sure who Rita married.Roy Husher used to spend a lot of time in Clutton staying at Maynard Terrace and he attended the local junior school for a time during the war.

In the holidays, aged 10 approx., I helped Joan Chivers with the
horse-drawn milk round and cousin Stanley Francis took me on his tandem
to the Stock’s Farm at Camely during haymaking.
Please note the state of my father’s car: tyre tread worn out, even on
the spare. Also, headlamps out of alignment and broken screen!
    Those were the days!

    Fry
I am researching my family history and have got back to my great great grandfather Joseph Fry who was, according to the 1851 census, born in Clutton in 1814. In 1851 he was married, living in Gloucester and was a policeman. Are there any Fry’s living in Clutton who may be related to Joseph. Any information on Joseph and his ancestors would be greatly appreciated.

    Ford
My great great grandfather (William Ford)was born in Compton Dando in 1811 and ended his days in Whitchurch. My Great grandfather (Jonas Ford) was born in 1843 in Maiden Down. He died in Chepstow but his body was taken back to Whitchurch by ferry for burial. He married Elizabeth Windmill and they had 4 children, Henry (abt 1873) Amelia (abt 1886) Lilian (abt 1888) Matilda (abt 1883) and William, my grandfather in 1880. Apart from Henry and William who came to Wales, the family stayed in Whitchurch.

Can anyone tellme anything about them and most importantly, where would they be buried. I’ve looked around St Nicholas Church in Whitchurch but cant find anyone. Is there another churchyard near where they would have been burried?

    Edwards
I wonder if anyone who knew these lovely people,Luther and Pat Edwards ,sadly now gone, if they could tell me anything of Luther’s ancestry. I have had no luck on ancestry.com, probably because the name Edwards is so popular. Apparently, he once told me, someone in his family came from Twerton. Any ideas? please.
