    Lewis
Gtx4 Grandfather was Moses Lewis who was born about 1744. He was married to ‘Hannah’ ? and is recorded as living in Stanton Prior. Eventually the Lewis’s lived in Farmborough where they worked in the coal mines. I believe Moses had a brother named Jonas Lewis. If any one can enlighten me as to Moses Lewis and Hannah, I would be most greatful. I am also researching the Read and Emery families in the Farmborough area.

Can anyone assist me in checking the Poor Law Records for Clutton for Ann Loxton (nee Rousel) and daughters Sarah and Hannah who are listed as paupers in the 1841 Census for Clutton? Also living nearby was another daughter, Eliza Loxton. Other children were Harriot, Charlotte, Louisa, Fanny (Francis?), and John. With thanks for any help you may be able to offer. With grateful thanks. Charles Osborne.

    Leakey
My research into my family tree (my maiden name is Leakey) has brought me to Clutton where my paternal grandfather Reginald Leakey (b 1893) and paternal grandmother Eva Denning (b 1892) lived. My great grandfather Thomas Leakey had 8 children and an adopted son Percy Drury.

I would love to visit the village one day since I am so connected with it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Lidford
my grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Lidford also known as Elizabeth Sarah, was born in Clutton in 1890[probably April]could you let me know howI can find out if she was baptised locally[possibly in a methodist chapel].I believe her mother was single and spent some time in the Bath Asylum. My grandmother`s cousins were miners in Durham and may have moved to the Radstock area when mines were opened there. She married Thomas Lancaster of Banwell,Somerset,in 1913.If anyone could help me I would gladly pay any expences.Possibly a local History student might like this as a research project. As I live in Nottingham it`s difficult to get the information myself however I will be visiting Banwell in March and may be able to pay a visit.I would be interested in any local mines history.Thank you very much.

    James
My great-great grandfather George James was born in Farmborough, Som in 1812 and married a Hannah Jones. All their children William, Sarah, George, Albert and Elizabeth were born in Clutton. George and two of his children were coal miners. However they do not appear to be listed in any of the information about the Somerset coalfield. Anyone any ideas. I am trying to work back from George James (b.1812) and his wife Hannah(b.1813) Anyone any information about them please.

    Lippiatt
I am trying to find marriage information for Harriett Lippiatt, born 25 December 1819 in Clutton. Her parents were John Lippiatt and Mary Selway. I have two possibilities for her: Alfred Witcombe married in 1850 and Martin Chivers married in 1838. However, neither of the censuses for these families match her age and/or birthplace. If anyone has any information for me on this person, I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you. Rhea Jones

I am organising the 200th anniversary exhibition of the history of the URC Church in Lindfield, West Sussex and one of our former ministers was at the Clutton Independent Chapel in 1871. His name was the Rev John Ebenezer Judson 1819-1881 plus. I am anxious to find an image of him and wondered whether you have any record or pictures of him.

      Hi
I have found your message by Google. I am an Elder of Highworth URC in Wiltshire, where John E Judson was minster from 1866-69. I am researching as best I can the lives of all rhe ministers we had in the 19th Century. I have found out some biographical information about him which I am happy to share (though no doubt too late for your original purpose), and am keen to obtain more. Would you like to contact me?
